Encouragement Club
Back in the day (when things were cool…for the Erykah Badu fans out there) when my sister was in high school at O’Connell and I was schooling it up at Fordham, she approached me about putting together a site for a new club that she was forming at her school. The Encouragement Club was going to be a place where students could air problems and get positive feedback from their peers. I found the mockup that I made for them and I’m not sure what I like more – the great polaroid of my sis, the stock photo of the pug, or the random shot of my friends (half of which I’m sure I haven’t spoken to in at least 5 years) on the lawn of Martyr’s at Spring Weekend. Imagine if MTV’s Spring Break went to the ghetto and set up a baby pool on a lawn and then got either Dave Matthews OR 3rd Bass to play – that was Spring Weekend at FU. Which was, of course, totally in line with the theme of the site – about as apropos as clipart with screen beans in it. Used on just about anything. Think about it – when was a screen bean ever apropos.
It’s a shame that the club never got off the ground – this was a damn cool site. And by damn cool, I mean, damn hilarious.
