Casual Easter Menu

Whether you celebrate Easter, the bunny, the onset of spring or just a tasty slice of ham, this feast is comforting on all levels. Ham is lovingly baked with rum and citrus until perfectly moist and tender. I’ve rounded out the menu with some tastes of spring that require little to no effort. Continue reading

Chef Tim’s Pan Fried Pork and Chive Potstickers

Pan Fried Pork and Chive Potstickers

The beauty of this recipe is in the simplicity – garlic chives and sesame oil do all of the heavy lifting seasoning the ground pork. This is the kind of cooking that is rooted in love – you make these dumplings for people that you care for, and hopefully have them join you in the effort. Continue reading

Black Tea Chicken Lettuce Wraps

Black Tea Chicken Lettuce Wraps

A long while back, in a moment of sheer MacGuyverism, I decided that since I couldn’t tea-smoke chicken in my NYC apartment without bringing in the fire department, I’d try to make a marinade for it using black tea. I decided to make a batch of basil ice cream because I am a fan of the glory of the celebration of the sweetness of basil. It’s different, yes. But it is so so very good. Eyes of wonder good. Continue reading

Ginger Limeade

Ginger Limeade © Angela Gunder.

This recipe, my dears (and yeah, I’m talking to you Virginians buried in 30+ inches of unplowed powder) is the culinary equivalent of the wrong song. It’s cold and slushy here in Gotham, and all I can do is pray for summer and sip on a refreshing glass of ginger limeade. I feel a few degrees warmer already… Continue reading
